About Me
I'm inspired by Nature primarily, but also by other artists and photographers. Photography gives me the excuse I need to get out in the elements and feel immersed in Nature's amazing spaces!
I also love abstract aerial photography, but it's a very different experience and thought process to landscape photography. It is visceral, noisy, hectic and liberating. And because the areas I photograph tend to be intertidal areas that are subject to significant changes throughout the year, I tend to be a lot more liberal in my processing of abstracts.

Braided Rivers of Iceland
A number of years ago, I travelled to Iceland and chartered a Cessna 207 specifically to photograph the spectacular “braided rivers”. As the mighty glaciers travel down the mountains, they grind up the rock underneath, and as the melted water fans out across the river deltas, these suspended rock particles cause a slight milkiness to the water. The colours alter according to the presence of different elements and minerals such as sulphur and iron, and the endless variations are absolutely breathtaking. It wasn’t until later that I saw the fire-breathing dragon in the photo, but now that I’ve seen it, I can’t see anything else! Nature is truly an artist.
The Buckland Valley, Victoria, Australia
We were photographing this chestnut orchard from over the fence on a particularly foggy morning in the Buckland Valley, when a ute pulled up beside us. I went over to chat to the driver, hoping we weren't doing anything wrong... but it was the owner of the orchard, and she invited us to go in and photograph it! What a surprise, and what a delight!
Sossusvlei, Namibia
Dune 45 is an absolutely gigantic sand dune in Namibia. I was fascinated by the tiny people and their long shadows.
