Jason Denning

About Jason

Jason aim’s to capture the beauty of our planet with his panoramic photography, to create a window into another world with impeccable attention to detail to create huge room filling prints from both the ground and the air.

From the beginning the panoramic format has always been exciting, allowing him to capture grand scenes in full just as the eyes can see. But this format also comes with challenges, to keep his work interesting and beautiful across the whole frame. This requires an artistic eye, dedication and experience. It is this challenge that inspires and excites him with every new country he visits to show the world in a new way.

Jason’s photographic passion began 18 years ago when he was living in London as an award-winning Film Editor. Having grown up in the Yorkshire countryside, the tall buildings and bright lights were a stark contrast to the landscape he was used to and he set out to capture the amazing sunsets he would see daily from his bedroom window overlooking the city. He started out using an old Praktica 35mm camera borrowed from his father, but in his quest to print big and wide he quickly ventured into medium format film.

Today Jason’s favourite format is the 3:1 ratio captured by his 617 panoramic film camera, a format that matched what he knew and loved from the big screen and achieves his goal to capture the bigger picture in a single shot for billboard sized pictures that do not sacrifice on quality. Learning on film from day one has taught Jason how to be a better and more patient photographer, he must be confident in his shot not to waste film. Large format requires a slowness that keeps Jason thinking all the time as the camera cannot do anything on its own, he is in full control which in turn means everything in his work is a result of intentional thought, years of experience and his vision.

Andreas Paehge

About Andreas

I was born in Bremen, a city in the north of Germany but I lives and works in the nice Ruhr area in West-Germany since many years. I’m actively photographing since 2012 when I’ve bought my first digital camera.

It did not take long for me to detect my passion for architecture photography. This passion took me to a lot of places in Germany and other countries to visit architecture buildings and metro stations which are the source for his fine art pictures. But I’m specialized on panoramas, lost places and landscape photography as well.

I like to post process his pictures in Photoshop and to use luminosity techniques to give my pictures this special look and feel. At the end my objective is to give my pictures and buildings a soul based on painting with light and shadows.

I’m always working on developing his photo techniques to improve the quality of his work.

I’ve participated in a lot of international photo competitions during the last years and I was the winner in amateur build category in EPSON Pano Awards in 2016 or 1st price winner in PX3 competition, category landscape photography.

Locally I’m leading the architecture project in DVF photoclub “Fotokunst Dortmund” and I’m also organized in the organization “Galeriemeile Gelsenkirchen” which is an association of artists, galleries and studios in the Kreativ.Quartier Ückendorf, Gelsenkirchen.

I’ve started to do workshops related to subway photography in 2019, others are planned as well.

Carlos Chegado

About Carlos

XR Specialist | VR Filmmaker| Immersive Photographer

I’m a professional photographer who quite early in my career started experimenting with ways to let users interact and explore my photography rather than frame the images myself like it happens with classic photography. On those days that meant taking matters into my own hands as there was nothing off the shelf a normal human could buy to speed up the process. Collaboration with others was the way to go so I joined the Panotools group in Europe and the IVRPA.org the two main panorama groups circa 2006.

I was elected an IVRPA.org director from January 2009 to help develop the annual conference model. We started with Tucson 2010 organized by G. Donald Bain, followed by Palmela 2011, NYC2012 and Iceland 2013 all organized by myself with the help of local IVRPA members. Palmela 2011 is regarded by many as the best IVRPA conference. It featured a rich conference program with additional exhibitions and events that involved the local community and were much appreciated by all international Palmela 2011 attendees. At the event, IVRPA President Matthias Taugwalder and the rest of the Board of Directors made me an IVRPA Honorary Member. I was also elected IVRPA President from January 2012.

While I thoroughly enjoyed those years of very active 360 community involvement fostering the development of hardware and software everyone in our industry needed, in 2013 I was offered the opportunity to come work in Australia so I packed my bags and moved with my family to the Gold Coast City, Queensland to work at Panedia with Aaron Spence.

As a senior member of the Panedia team, over the last few years I’ve been overseeing a number of large projects from building the Google Oceans Street View to creating the Global Reef Record. I have coordinated and delivered major projects to Qantas, Griffith University, Transport and Main Roads QLD, Sydney Opera House, Tourism Queensland, Queensland Health, Mahindra Racing, Americold Australia, Samsung Australia, Olympus Australia, etc…

With the learning from all those projects, in 2016 I started VRLearn.com with Aaron Spence and Paul Preston to deliver education and training through Virtual Reality. The QantasLink Manual Handling VR Training program won an award at the IATA Ground Handling conference in Bangkok.

I was born in Portugal, grew up in Mozambique and worked all over the world, but now Australia is my home and here I’ve been involved with a number of high profile visual communication and educational projects that saw me growing professionally to become one of the most experienced persons in the extended reality field today.

Mieke Boynton

About Mieke

I’m a landscape and aerial photographer based in the beautiful township of Bright in Victoria, Australia. There is nothing I enjoy more than photographing vast, wild, and beautiful natural places, either from the ground, or in a more abstract form from helicopters and light planes. Nature is a source of constant inspiration, and it’s a true privilege to be able to share that experience with others.

I’m an accredited professional photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), and have received more than 300 International Awards, including last year’s EPSON International Pano Awards.  I’m a Grand Master with the Australian Photographic Society (APS), and the current AIPP Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year.

I regularly exhibit my work, and thoroughly enjoy teaching photography through workshops and presentations in Australia. I look forward to judging this year’s EPSON International Pano Awards.
